This dog. OMGsh this dog! Anywhere I take her, people LOVE her and remark on how well-behaved she is. It’s part personality, but having owners who have put the time and training into teaching Cookie the “Rules, boundaries, and limitations” that all pet dogs should know has helped a bit too.

Cookie has entertained my daughter’s fourth-grade class with some of her special ‘break dancing’, she helped my middle son get elected to student council and she has been featured in many of my YouTube cooking videos over on The Goldilocks Kitchen. Everywhere I take her people always remark, “I own a Golden Retriever, and my dog is/was the BEST dog I ever owned.” As a fellow Golden owner, I wholeheartedly agree!

When my husband had to put his old dog down shortly after we were married, he was so heartbroken he said we’d never get another dog. I was pretty sad to hear that; I grew up with my beloved Golden Retriever Rusty who was such a chill fluffernutter friend to me.

But years later, when all our children were forced to attend virtual school because of stupid covid- and stare at screens so much longer than was healthy- We needed a change. Camron realized that having a dog could be just what our family needed. We adopted our sweet Sugar Cookie as a Christmas surprise for our kids in 2020.
